Hey, I'm Jessie

I've always loved music.

Growing up as a competitive dancer with parents who were always playing music, how could I not? I was surrounded by music every single day. The music I heard expressed my emotions when I didn't know how.

I didn't have to express the happiness, frustration, and confusion of growing up; music did it for me.

When I stopped dancing and starting playing competitive basketball and softball, music took on a whole different life. It wasn't just an outlet for my emotions. It was a way to connect with my teammates and get in the right headspace for a game. I used the long rides to and from games to discover new artists, albums, and genres. The music world didn't seem so small anymore. There was so much out there that I hadn't heard, and I was determined to listen to as much as I could.

I had gone to live shows here and there as a kid (my first concert was Taylor Swift at age ten and I still have the t-shirt), but I didn't discover my love of going to live shows until my junior year of high school. My friends had an extra ticket to see a band I had never heard of, and I tagged along. As I stood in the crowded, small venue, my eyes were opened to just how cool live music was.

Suddenly, music wasn't just something playing from my phone speakers. It was a real, tangible thing.

Now, years removed from competitive dancing and pre-game jam sessions and that first live show, music is just as important to me. As I've gone to show after show and listened to album after album, the passion has never faded. It's grown into something I could have never imagined.

My passion for music is almost overwhelming, and I can't help but share it.
